Flavia has a PhD in Medical Science from the Karolinska Institute and S:t Erik Eye Hospital. She focused her studies and research work on the underlying mechanisms of retinal degeneration and neovascularization and gained in-depth experience in preclinical studies, molecular biology and data analysis, working with in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo models. Flavia also holds a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences and a M.Sc. in Biology applied to Biomedicine from the University of Pisa, Italy.
